Hand-Painted Murals

Holder of a BFA degree with a specialty in painting, Espinola found that he liked making murals. He has painted them in laundromats, restaurants, churches, and boutique stores as well as residences throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Friendly, professional, and collaborative, Espinola will work with you to bring your ideas to life.

Our Process

Classically, murals are painted directly onto walls or ceilings – think Sistine Chapel. In more modern times, however, a mural is considered any piece of graphic artwork that is painted or applied directly to a permanent substrate. At Art Works, we often advocate painting our murals onto a substrate here at our shop. Then we can install it at your location.

The advantages to this are two-fold: First, we would probably be able to finish your piece faster because we can work at hours when it may not be convenient for you to have someone at your location. Secondly, if/when it becomes necessary to move, you can take your mural with you

Inspiration

Citing Maxfield Parrish and early California Impressionists as his artistic influences, much of Espinola’s painting explores specific qualities of light, from the first, fresh rays of morning sun on a garden shed to a meadow awash with gold in the last brilliant rays of the setting sun. “I find a magical quality in scenes of timeless architecture and landscapes,” he says. “They are my favorite subjects for painting. I try to capture the feeling of the moment with subtleties of light and shade.”
