Ain’t She Sweet – Custom Gold Leaf Boat Lettering in Lake Tahoe, California
Gotta love that reflection! And nothing makes it like real gold. On the wood or on the water, it shines like nothing else.
The letters on the back of this 1960 17′ Chris Craft Utility sport bright inline accents as well as the typical outline. John painted them in oil enamels after putting two gilds of 23 Kt gold leaf on the letters and then applying their engine-turned finish by hand.
Finally, he added his usual natural-looking drop shadows. He also gilded the CF numbers on the hull and outlined them in black. This craft is entered in the 44th Annual Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance, August 2016.
