Stained Glass Ceiling at United Methodist Church Steeple in Woodside, California
When the thick, heavy pieces of glass in their old dalle de verre glass steeple began to fail, the church turned to stained glass artist John Espinola for help. He designed stained glass panels in zinc caming that weigh a fraction of what the same sized panel in the thicker glass and mortar would.
Espinola’s design includes aluminum rebar bracing across the back of each panel to prevent the sagging that many are susceptible to over time.
