Award and Entrance Signs for Bret Harte Middle School in San Jose, California

Sign artist John Espinola cut the sign from 1/2″ MDO plywood then coated all sides in oil enamels. He mounted 24″, 18″ & 9″ formed plastic letters to the face. He cut Home of the Broncos in 1/2″ white and 1/8″ red PVC material and added that. He added the gold bar at the top of the sign, also cut from 1/2″ MDO plywood and coated in oil enamels.

Espinola made both the California Distinguished and National Blue Ribbon Schools emblems of high performance vinyl films over 36″ formed plastic “pans.” He placed these on 40″ diameter blue acrylic discs. All pieces are bolted to the facade. Sign dimensions are approx. 60″x 14’6″.
